As you may already be aware, there are rules being introduced which will affect most landlords. I feel it is important to communicate and raise awareness about this with everyone and as one of our regular clients we want you to be fully aware and informed so you can take any necessary action in good time.
The two main dates to look out for:
- From 2025 any BTL property with new tenancy agreement will have to have EPC rating of C or above.
- From 2028 all BTL properties will have to have EPC rating of C or above.
Where to make a start as a landlord?
- Check all your BTL properties’ current EPC rating on the government website: www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate
- Follow updates on the proposed legislation on www.gov.uk
- Plan for any changes you may need to make.
